Short Academic Profile

Prof. Murat Şen was born in Zonguldak Ereğli, Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1991. He completed postgraduate studies at the Institute of Social Sciences in University of Selcuk, and received his PhD in law in 1998. He undertook research at the University of Luneburg and University of Hamburg, Germany in 2004.

In 2013, he was a Visiting Professor at Belmont University, USA. He became an Associate Professor in 2006 and Full Professor in 2011. From 2007-2009, he was the Deputy Dean at Erciyes University Faculty of Law. Currently, he served as the Dean of Meliksah University Faculty of Law from 2009 to 2016. He is also an official mediator for the Ministry of Labour and Social Security (in provinces of Kayseri, Kırşehir ve Nevşehir).

He also served as a member of the Interuniversity Council between 2013-2016. In 2015, he was elected to the pretigious International Academy of Comparative Law in the Hague. Prof. Şen is the author of more than 70 scientific journal papers, and has presented more than 60 papers at national and international conferences and scientific meetings.
